New Student Board Member

It is with great pleasure to announce our very first student board member: Nora Leidinger (University of Groningen).

Nora will be our first student representative on the IASPM Benelux board. From now on, we annually open up a position for a student to become a full member of the board for one year. The student member will be involved in all business of the branch, and has full voting rights. They are especially encouraged to connect with the students of popular music studies in the Benelux region, and they take a leading role in organizing the annual student conference. We are excited to work with Nora and future student representatives on the board!

Nora Leidinger

“I’m Nora and I’m the new Student Board Member of IASPM Benelux. I did my BA in Arts, Culture and Media and am now a ReMa student in Arts, Media and Literary Studies at the University of Groningen. My research interests are focussed on popular music and gender studies; more specifically on 21st century female pop stars and something you could call the gendered voice, which I am trying to theorize. I also work as a Teaching and Research Assistant at the UG. As the first student board member, I hope to get more students to be actively involved with IASPM Benelux, organize and attend talks and conferences, and map out the early career stages for a popular music scholar.”
